Take a moment and pay attention to the noise your keyboard makes. We were surprised at how loud our newer Mac keyboard actually is. Sure it's not the noisy IBM keyboards of yesterday, but we began to wonder if this silent keyboard actually makes a difference.
The Thanko Silent Keyboard claims to cut your keyboard noise down to 6 decibels through the use of silicon springs. That's down from the 30 db a regular old keyboard makes.
The only downside is that it is made for a Japanese market and claims to have a few extra keys. From the photos, however, this doesn't to appear to have a huge impact. We're on the fence about this one. We might be like those old typewriter users, who didn't want to give up their noisy carriages in favor of those new-fangled gadgets, the computer.
