Pimp My Living Room: Go Black, Get Glossy

091608_an_pinnacle_black_set.jpgA fan of black? Like shiny things? Don't have that much money, but looking for the very best? We've got you covered. For this roundup, we have our budget-savvy glossy black edition for college students looking to get more broke or those who have too much white in their living room and want some darkside.

Shiny black LCD TV Pick: Toshiba REGZA 32CV510 32-inch 720p LCD HDTV
Shiny black speaker pick: Pinnacle BD1000 Floor Standing Speakers
Shiny console pick: Playstation 3
Shiny stand pick: IKEA Stockholm TV Unit
Shiny remote control pick: Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote

With the Toshiba LCD television, you get a budget set with great contrast ratio and luscious blacks, and when you pair it up with the Playstation 3, high definition gaming and media streaming will be at your fingertips.

Grab any type of receiver laying around and plug them into the Pinnacle speakers (even a 2.1 setup will blow you away) to get jaw dropping speakers that not only look good - they sound great!

Lastly, the IKEA tv stand is muted black, which gives more shine to the rest of your electronics and the remote control lets you program every last piece of tech until the only remote control you have laying on the coffee table is the Logitech One (note: you still need the PS3 controller to play, duh - and it's Bluetooth so you can only turn "on" the PS3 with the remote).

If you like black, make sure you invest in Swiffer products.

excellent point illegal danish...I wish I had thought of that before I bought my glossy black desk! Oh well, at least it inspires me to dust my other furniture more often1

I couldn't vouch on whether or not the speakers sound great but to me, shiny black plastic finish just looks cheap and flimsy. So many electronics (monitors, TVs, etc) are sadly swathed in it. Give me brushed metal or at the very least a matte finish. Actually wood finish is the best. ;)
